The trail from JK to leadership
Scouts progress through five age groups, each with its own skills, traditions, and challenges — and after graduation, the trail continues into leadership.
JK – Grade 2
Pre-Beavers & Beavers
First steps in friendship, fun, and the scout spirit.
Our youngest scouts discover belonging, friendship, and the joy of learning together through play, crafts, stories, and their first scouting traditions — then, as Beavers, take their first steps into the formations, chants, and teamwork of scouting.
Grades 3–5
Cubs
Knots, trails, and first adventures.
Cubs dive into real scouting skills: knots, trail signs, fires, and navigation basics — while building discipline, confidence, and strong friendships.
Grades 6–8
Scouts
Skills, patrols, and responsibility.
Scouts take on patrols, advanced skills, and real responsibility — from campcraft and first aid to leading younger scouts by example.
Grades 9–11
Ventures
Leadership in action.
Our most senior group. Ventures master the full scouting toolkit and step into leadership — planning activities, mentoring patrols, and preparing to give back as leaders themselves.
After graduation
Leader Assistant
Graduates begin mentoring a group.
After graduating from Ventures, scouts can return as Leader Assistants — supporting a group's leaders, mentoring scouts, and learning to run a program.
The full circle
Leader
Guiding the next generation.
Leaders carry the program: planning lessons, running Friday nights, leading camps, and passing on the same experience that shaped them.

Our performance group — drums, chants, and cultural tradition — representing Al-Huda Scouts at ceremonies and community events.
